For 20 years, the MUEC has enabled thousands of citizens to participate actively in urban development projects, and organizations and decision-makers to design safe and user-friendly public spaces that meet the needs of their citizens.

In its approach, the Center promotes the combination of citizen and professional knowledge by proposing sustainable management solutions for cities on a human scale and by involving citizens in the transformation of their living environment. The MUEC promotes the development of a culture of participatory urban planning in Montreal, Quebec and Canada.

The MUEC acts in the public space and intervenes at the local level; space where the city is experienced on foot or by bike. It's in the streets, parks, public squares, urban wastelands, etc. that converges our vision of cities on a human scale.
